Training a sea doggie

It seems odd to describe a dog walk as epic, especially when it had about as much in common with walking as it did with wrestling,  but this one was and no calorie counter will capture the WWE aspect of hoofing it down to the shoreline with princess wildness part labx / part lowland gorilla. But for all intents and purposes,  this was her first foray into the waters of the bay.
She clearly loved the shore with  all its rich, ripe and salty scents.

Dipping the paws in the frigid brine was not an obvious choice at first.  But once a tasty stick entered the equation, the water--at least ankle deep, was not a problem.  After a brief excursion back to the next street, she pulled back toward the waterfront,  and bounded in with full gusto... And immediately bounded out with the same manic energy. And  that was it.  We'll have to see if she has  the same enthusiasm for it next time. But she dried off before we got home with only the  help of the brisk North wind,  no towels needed. Remarkable.

On the downside, our little girl is now around 73# and is going to require a major sized SUP to support the both of us. Let along surf small waves with both of us. I think I am looking at an 11'6-11'8 board. Now do I get a wind-SUP that will work for other large family members, or a lighter straight SUP? Questions, decisions.
