.... Time on the Water

I used to spend a lot of time on the water.

I'm not sure why but this brings a tear to my eye. Maybe it's been too long. Maybe it's also partly because the sewage, red tides, brown tides, and polluted runoff entering the Great South Bay in greater quantities these days makes dunking in the bay water a somewhat risky proposition.

But more it's because despite the stunning beauty you see here, all is not well with the bay. Under the water and around it the flora and fauna that sustain the food chain are severely threatened.
