Breaking Out of the Clouds Riding and Dog Walking with the Wind

Fancy a dip. Musselbeds at lowtide on Shoreview park.
I hope my baby cat-dog does not take this the wrong way, when I say last week was fine weather for dogs. Well maybe fine weather for labradors and labramutts.

Spring kinda took a strange turn after what had been a "warm" winter. Somewhen back in December to early February time frame, there were 60F+ sunny days that were rideable in bike shorts and short sleeves. After Groundhog day, though, winter returned with a vengeance. Around st Patrick's day there was hope of better weather, but since April, there's been a constant diet of 40+f days with rain, wind, showers and fog, punctuated buy the rare warm day.
After the rain came wind, and sun. Whitecaps on the sound.
Len rounds the bottom of Shoreview.

Some say a quality IPA is a fine recovery beverage. From Georgia,
SweetWater Hash Session IPA; From New York Len goes with Southern
Tier 2X IPA. The SweetWater did not do much to fill the water bottle.

Today was such a climatic punctuation mark. It put a glorious halt to five-day sentence of clouds, rain showers and damp cold. Getting out was a rain-slicker affair of wet dog walks, squishy runs on muddy trails between showers and taking cover in the gym to get in some kind of a workout. And work.

For those five days most cyclists around here were either extremely soggy or had a bad case of cabin fever.  Mother's Day to the rescue with a brief window to ride in real, bona fide sun — who cared if it was windy?
