The rides, the pics, the days fly by.

Our temperate winter turned into a volatile spring. The days have been busy and the rides have been snatched right out of time.

But the bike can be something of a time machine — a two-wheeled "Tardis." I am no Dr. Who, my experiment with time travel happened on a whim and a vagary of traffic flow.

Mind the sand round the far corner at speed.
P.S. Ought to reposition that shifter I think.
I was flying down a busy segment when it became obvious the light would still be red when I arrived. I made a right on red to preserve the momentum, and like a space traveller slipping through a worm-hole, I was in a long-lost mini universe of reverberating experiences. The time we nearly moved here, the time we picked up the BIL when he lived here to go on a ski trip. The time we had dinner with the BIL and his GF. Roasted potatoes with rosemary and garlic. 20-30 years ago? All the times me and the guys did stealth sunset windsurf sessions from the MICA launch. The house hunting trips with realtors.

And, more recently the times I used to ride here more often quite a number of years ago, but haven't visited in years ... for no particular reason. The time I came looking for Gordon who was lost on the beach and needed a pickup. It also took me back to a place I used to launch and windsurf with the guys a decade or so ago.

It was quite the afternoon. A very peaceful vibe there. In due course, summer will bring more intensity, more hustle and bustle, but now is a good time to savor it.

Regualr 3-Dimensional travel has also been on the menu, including a trip to Texas. Just in time to drive across Dallas as a tornado-packing storm arrived.

Waiting for the rain to abate before making a dash for the front door of the hotel. No biking no running for a week, but plenty of walking and and a lightning strike every few seconds.
The left side of Hoffstot's beach crescent.
One day it's sunny and warm, the next chill and raw.

But to be fair some have been right in-between. This spring has had it all.

Here's why Hoffstot is a must-ride sidetrack off Sands Point.

Just watch the sand that blows in from the storms and nor'easters, or you will get a case of road rash or worse.
Hoffstot's beachy vistas. This one is a full crescent
that extends to the left.

A cell phone pic does not do it justice but the view on the
horizon extends the length of Long Island Sound
from here. Next stop Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket, if you aim carefully.
